Anapaya releases Anapaya PathGuard, its first end-to-end solution on SCION for enterprises

Zurich, October 1, 2026 – Anapaya, the provider of SCION-based secure connectivity solutions for critical networks, today announced the release of Anapaya PathGuard, its first end-to-end solution for enterprises running on SCION. Anapaya PathGuard is a product suite that provides user-authenticated access control on the network level, effectively reducing the attack surface to zero. It addresses the most pressing cybersecurity challenge of today: Every service and application on the internet can be discovered, scanned and attacked – and every exposed service expands the exploitable attack surface.

SCION extended to end users’ browsers, apps, and devices

Anapaya PathGuard eliminates the attack surface of critical enterprise services by extending the SCION technology, introduced in 2009, natively to the end users’ browsers, apps, and devices – hiding the paths to the respective applications for unauthorized users. They become de facto invisible on both the public internet and the SCION internet. For the first time, the entire connection, user to critical service, is native SCION with no third-party components and their potential risks in between.

Enterprises using Anapaya PathGuard can define authorized users for individual services while keeping them out of visibility and reach for everyone else:

  • Controlled sovereignty: Enterprises can choose network providers and avoid paths or jurisdictions that do not meet compliance.

  • Increased security: Only approved users can reach the protected services. They remain not just inaccessible, but invisible to all others.

  • Simplified secure access: Browsers, clients and VPN accesses of enterprises are supported and integrated with enterprise identities.

  • Improved resilience: SCION multipath enables fast failover, which ensures availability in the presence of network degradation.

An application protected by the Anapaya PathGuard Gateway can run behind an Anapaya EDGE, on-premise or in the cloud. The Anapaya PathGuard Client reaches the SCION network through a SCION Network Access Point (SNAP). The PathGuard Client authenticates with the Hidden Path Service to retrieve the path information it needs to reach the protected application. Unauthorized users do not receive that path information. Anapaya PathGuard therefore complements the existing security stack. It controls who can see and reach the protected application, and which SCION paths carry the authorized traffic. The existing security stack continues to control identity and access management, application security and authorization, endpoint monitoring, and incident responses.

Martin Bosshardt, CEO of Anapaya: "Being on the Internet has always meant being a target. But AI has made exposed services far easier to attack: vulnerabilities are found faster and exploited with less effort. Filtering, scrubbing, and edge caching only react to attacks and don't remove the exposure behind them. With Anapaya PathGuard, our first enterprise-grade solution, we control who can reach critical services in the first place. That means a smaller attack surface and resilient, controlled connectivity."

Anapaya PathGuard is now available worldwide through Anapaya.
